“We’re honored to team up with AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ and all of the zombie-fied celebrities to highlight this important cause,” said Regina Raccuglia, Communications Manager for the Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region.  “Someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds.”

Celebrities that have “zombie-fied” themselves for this great cause include Peter Jackson, The Black Keys, EXTR’s Maria Menounos, Joel Madden, Mena Suvari, Aisha Tyler, Jimmy Smits, and NASCAR’s Kurt Busch.

AMC has also organized a special sweepstakes to thank those who support blood donation through the Red Cross.  The grand prize will be a visit to the set of “The Walking Dead” in Atlanta, Georgia.  For details visit http://www.amcgiveblood.com/.

The Clarksville Donor Center, located at 1760 Madison St., is open Monday from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month from 8 a.m.-noon.  To schedule an appointment and for more information, call 931-337-0247.
