Increased Traffic Enforcement Results in 162 Charges



CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Since January 1st, there have been 322 crashes on Fort Campbell Boulevard, 106 being injury, 160 rear-end collision and 100 were angle crashes.

The major causes of the collisions were following too closely, failure to yield and speeding.
 
On July 19th, the Clarksville Police Department stepped up their traffic enforcement on Fort Campbell Boulevard from North Second Street to Stateline Road due to the increase in crashes on the roadway.
 
The results from the increased enforcement are as follows:
  • Child Restraint – 2
  • Seat Belt – 6
  • Window Tint – 4
  • Revoked/Suspended License – 2
  • Improper Turns – 1
  • Following Too Closely – 11
  • Insurance – 28
  • Light Law – 2
  • Other Driver License Violations – 7
  • Speeding – 84
  • Traffic Signal – 2
  • Failure to Use Reasonable Care – 4
  • Registration – 6
  • Failure to Yield – 1
  • Other Violations – 1 (loud music)
 
There were a total of 122 vehicles stopped, with a total of 162 charges.
