LEAP 7 Points Quest Scholarship Essay Contest



CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The LEAP Organization is sponsoring the 7 Points Quest Scholarship Essay Contest which is for high school seniors.
 
The contest is designed to encourage and promote the 7 principles of Leadership, Enlightenment, Academic Achievement, Perseverance, Outreach, Responsibility and Growth.  The LEAP Organization recognizes the importance of encouraging youth to be productive and responsible citizens, and is honored to provide resources to assist youth with their quest to pursue higher learning opportunities.
 
For the past two years LEAP has awarded scholarships at their annual Step and Dance Competitions, proceeds for the scholarships are received from funds generated at this event.
 
The LEAP Organization currently has $500 allotted for one Scholarship Essay winner.  Based on additional revenue generated from the event, it is possible that LEAP may be able to award additional scholarships to 2nd and 3rd place.
 
The deadline to submit an essay is March 1st, 2012.  The essay must be 350-750 words, typed and double spaced.  You must be a high school senior to apply and you must include your name, school and contact number in the top right corner of each page of the essay.  Entries may either be submitted by fax to 931-274-0929 or by mail to 303 Fairview Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
 
The essay must address the 7 Points Theme LEADERSHIP.  Think back over your life and select a time where you emerged as a leader.  Describe the opportunity by including your responsibilities and how you persevered to achieve the desired outcome along with what you learned from the opportunity.  Finally, describe how you would use the 7 Points Quest Scholarship for academic achievement and how you can apply the principles of the 7 Points of LEAP to your everyday life.
