CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Toyota has announced a voluntary safety recall of certain 2011 model year RAV4 compact SUVs due to concerns over an airbag defect.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration site lists the potential number of affected units at 427. Vehicles in the recall were built between November 24th, 2011 and December 19th, 2011. The NHTSA says an improper propellant may cause a failure to deploy in one or both of the curtain shield airbags. Toyota will contact owners and will replace the faulty assemblies as needed.
