Wildcats Sting Yellow Jackets

On Senior Night, the Clarksville High School basketball teams gave their family and friends plenty to celebrate, as both the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats were victorious over the Springfield Yellow Jackets.

In women's action, the Lady Wildcats remained perfect on the season, winning 86 - 17.  Clarksville used a 23 to 4 first quarter scoring output to take control of the basketball game and never look back. Bashaara Graves lead the way for Clarksville High with 18 points, while Chandler Cooper and Jessy Ward both added 15 apiece.  Tiasha Gray also got to double digits, contributing 10 points to the victory, improving the Lady Wildcats to 15 and 0 in District 10 - AAA play, and improving their overall record to 27 and 0.  The Lady Wildcats have next Tuesday off, and prepare to end their regular season schedule next Friday night on the road at Rossview.

Clarksville High's men's' team won a sloppy affair over Springfield 55 to 26.  After a low scoring first half that saw Clarksville lead at the break 22 to 13, the Wildcats used an10 to 2 run in the third quarter to take control of the game, and outscored the Yellow Jackets 33 to 13 in the second half.  Drake Young, who did not start the contest, yielding his spot to the seniors on the team, made an immediate impact when he took the floor.  On the first possession after he took the court, Young drove baseline from the left wing and finished with a dunk that set the tone for his night to come.  Young finished the night with 19 points to lead all scorers, and was the catalyst for the Wildcats on the defensive end on numerous possessions.  Anthony Hightower finished the night with 9 points, while Tevin Majors chipped in 8 off the bench.
