CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The new Chief of Campus Police and Director of Public Safety at Austin Peay State University, Terence Calloway, was sworn in Monday in a ceremony held at the Browning Administration Building on campus.
Austin Peay President Tim Hall administered the oath of office to Calloway as they both stood on the seal of the University on the floor of the lobby in the Browning Building.
A search committee for Austin Peay carried out a nationwide search for a new Director of Public Safety and Chief of Campus Police. Calloway is expected to begin his duties immediately.
Calloway is an accomplished administrator with more than 16 years of experience. He has directed community-oriented police operations which includes patrol, investigation support, training, budget management and administrative services. Calloway also has extensive experience providing service to the community.
“I’m very excited, it’s a little overwhelming but I think we have a great base here and we’re going to get some things accomplished in our Police Department,” Calloway said.
Calloway added he wanted to work to make it one of the best if not the best Police Department in Tennessee.
