AMT Club Helps Warm Heads and Hands for the Holidays

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The American Medical Technologist (AMT) Club at Miller-Motte Technical College in Clarksville showed their support for those in need Thursday with their “Warm heads and hands”.

Volunteers from the AMT Club stopped by Loaves and Fishes to hand out winter gloves, caps and scarves to those disadvantaged people who came by for their meal provided by Loaves and Fishes. A total of over 200 sets of gloves, caps and scarves were donated to the people who came by where the organization serves lunch at 215 Foster Avenue.

“When the community comes together great things happen. People have lost jobs today in this economy and we just wanted to give back to the community the best way we know how. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” said LaTonja Glaspy President of the AMT Club.

Glaspy added that it’s wintertime and people are cold and there’s nothing better than putting on a pair of gloves especially when they come from the heart.

It was the first year that the AMT Club at Miller-Motte Technical College carried out the project. They began collecting donations for their “Warm heads and hands” December 2 and collected gloves, caps and scarves through December 16.
