According to Kaymie Johnston,RN at Blanchfield, “The ceremony today is to honor mothers and families who have suffered miscarriages and infant loss and to be here to show support and let them know that it’s okay to come together and talk about things and to recognize the loss that they have had. “

One of the guest speakers was Sharee Moore who has suffered three losses and has written a book entitled, Stolen Angels:  25 Stories of Hope After Pregnancy or Infant Loss.  Moore is now a bereavement counselor.

Families in attendance who have had a loss, were given a box as they entered and before the Walk to Remember began they opened the boxes which released butterflies in remembrance of their losses.

Parents Helping Parents Grieving Support Group meets the first Wednesday every other month from 7-9pm in classroom #2 at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, A Lobby.  For more information call 270-798-8777.
