Oktoberfest This Weekend

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – It’s the month of October and that means one thing, Oktoberfest!

This year the Edelweiss Club’s annual Oktoberfest is Friday and Saturday October 5 & 6 from 4:00pm to midnight on Friday and 2:00pm to midnight on Saturday.

According to Event Organizer, Dwayne Mann, “It’s a great weekend for family fun, entertainment and great German Food.”  He added, “It’s not just about the beer.  There’ll be locally prepared German food such as Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Chicken, German potato salad, funnel cakes, pretzels and even a Bavarian Nut Guy will be there.”

This is the 32nd year for Oktoberfest and the chance to enjoy German cuisine and do the “chicken dance”.

Live music will be provided by “Prost” and “Die Mitternachters” and there will be carnival rides for children of all ages.  Also slated to perform are Schuhplatter and Holzhacker Folk dancers.

Tickets are $5 for adult with children under 15, free.  Parking at the event is also free.

Proceeds from Oktoberfest goes to several organizations, including an APSU Scholarship and a local boy scout troop that maintains the German POW cemetery at Fort Campbell.
