Horton Named Freshman of the Week for Third Week Straight

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.—Austin Peay State University center Chris Horton, who scored 24 points in two games while shooting 71 percent from the floor, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for a third straight time.

The 6-8 Decatur, Ga., native, scored 15 points against Berea last Wednesday, going 6-of-9 from the floor. He followed that up with nine points, going 4-of-5 from the floor, against Fairfield. He led the Govs in rebounding with eight.

Horton also blocked three shots against the Stags and five for the week—he has at least two blocked shots in all seven APSU games this season.

For the season, Horton is averaging 8.0 ppg, shooting 59 percent from the floor, while pulling down 5.7 rpg. He is tied for 14th in the nation in blocked shots, averaging 2.86 per game.
