CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Subscribers to Clarksville Department of Electricity will see another decrease in utilities for the month of February according to the Interim Superintendent Brian Taylor.
During January’s meeting of the CDE Power Board, Taylor explained that due to the continued low cost of fuel sources for Tennessee Valley Association, customers can expect to see an average of approximately $3 on February’s bills. The drop in expected bills was one of multiple positive announces during the meeting.
During the month of December, the electric division’s debt to equity ratio continued to improve. For the Broadband division’s cash flow has continued to stabilize at $1 million. According to Taylor, the board should expect an upcoming payment around $2 million or debt services as well as payment for a transformer at $1.4 million. These payments will bring down the very positive outlook of the cash flow, but both are expected and have been planned for.
While the Power Board was briefed on the performance of CDE Broadband, a focus was placed on working to increase business subscriptions for the phone services provided. Across the table, board members praised the current phone services offered.
“My office is on CDE phone and it’s been excellent,” board member Jane Olsen.
Even board chairman Wayne Wilkinson had positive reviews for the service. According to Wilkinson his company saves approximately $800 a month on using CDE.
Privott Stroman, director of Human Resources, reminded the board that tomorrow, January 25, CDE will hold a blood drive for the Red Cross. The blood drive is open for employees and customers of the utility.
