After placing first in her event at the State Hershey Track & Field Competition on Saturday, July 7 in Nashville, Tennessee, one local competitor will be competing at the national level in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Daylon Brooks, a 13 year old from Clarksville High School will be competing in the Girls 13 -14 Softball Throw.  Brooks’ qualifying distance for the Softball Throw was 164:11:00.  The National Hershey Track & Field competition will take place August 2-5.

The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department is one of several locations to host a local Hershey Track & Field meet each spring.  This opportunity allows for the young people in the community to showcase their skills in events like 100, 200 and 400 meter relays, softball throw and long jump.

Congratulations to Daylon Brooks as this week’s Charter Business Athlete of the Week.
