Monday, October 15, Clarksville Detective Kagan Dindar received a call from a Petersburg Police officer who said they had received a tip about a possible location of “Gizzy”. Police contacted the residents and found they had a monkey in their possession.
The residents were very cooperative and said they purchased the monkey from a man in Nashville for $500. The monkey was voluntarily turned over tp Petersburg Police until the owner, Douglas Jackson of Clarksville could positively identify the monkey as “Gizzy”.
Jackson went to Petersburg and identified the monkey as “Gizzy”. Jackson said the monkey had lost quite a bit of weight and his hair had been shaved in what appeared an attempt to alter his appearance.
The monkey was stolen from Jackson’s mobile home at 115 Denny Road on September 28. The investigation is ongoing and the lead detective is Kagan Dindar who can be reached at (931) 648-0656, extension 5434.
