The 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, “Wings of Destiny”, will provide full-spectrum aviation support in regional Command-East when the colors are uncased, assuming the mission in Afghanistan.

Col. Paul Bontrager said about the casing ceremony, “What it does is, it sets the tone.   As you get ready to go down range, there is a physical preparation and a mental preparation.  This is the mental part where soldiers are gearing up to go into harms way.  This is where we add that structure to the mental preparation.”
