Married with four kids. They keep us busy to say the least!
What do you like most about Clarksville?
Great location, great folks who want to grow.
If you could have any other profession/dream job what would it be?
Starting shortstop and batting third for the Cincinnati Reds.
What is your favorite meal?
Any that features great conversation with great folks. It helps if there is lasagna involved.
What is the easiest and most difficult part of your job every day?
Easiest-working with creative great staff.
Difficult-making hard choices with limited resources.
What do you drive?
My wife crazy, and a Toyota Tacoma.
What’s your favorite movie or TV show?
Got to go with Andy Griffith and the Godfather. Polar opposites in terms of how to deal with people, but that is how it goes sometimes.
Who do you look up too? Who is your role model?
Dear ‘ol Mom and Dad on that one. All the important lessons came from them. They are the benchmark, except for Dad’s taste in music. That needs work.
What has been the toughest challenge you’ve had to overcome in your life?
Completing this survey. That, and learning to slow down and enjoy the moment you find yourself in. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
Being the starting shortstop and hitting third for the Cincinnati Reds. How would you like your life to look 10 years from now? I’d like to have all my faculties intact with as many friends as my address book can hold.
Why did you choose your current profession?
Opportunity to exercise many different skills to be successful. You need to be able to write, research, interact with people in large and small groups, speak effectively, and have good business skills. It is always a challenging day at the office.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
University of Northern Iowa and Wright State U in Cedar Falls, IA and Dayton, OH I studied Political Science, History, and Public History.
When and to where was your last vacation?
Last fall we took the kids to Huntsville, AL to see the Star Wars travelling exhibit before it closed. The kids had a great time.
What is your favorite pastime or hobby?
Love to play baseball and golf. Not much time for either right now. There are no baseball leagues in Clarksville right now. Need to fix that.
What advice can you give others juggling a family and career?
Get the work done, but do it in a way that you don’t miss the major moments of a growing family. Kids won’t be kids forever, unless you name them Peter Pan.
How do you start your day?
You will find me at the YMCA getting my workout in while clearing my head for the day.
What are you passionate about in life?
Living in such a way that I will be proud of when my number is called, and I give an account for how I spent my time on this earth.
What is something most Clarksvillians wouldn’t know about you?
There are plenty of surprises I cannot reveal. What’s the fun if I told everything in one fell swoop?
If you could leave one message to the Clarksville community what would it be?
Being a member of the Customs House Museum is one of the best values available for this community. Come be part of our family!
